  3.     So Burma has changed its name to Myanma (WORLD, June 19).
  4. Well, this certainly puts me in a quandary. When I introduced
  5. myself and people inevitably said, "What?", I would reply, "You
  6. know, like the roadside shaving-cream signs." Then, when those
  7. began disappearing, I would say, "You know, like the country."
  8. Instead of fighting it, maybe I should just adapt and call
  9. myself Myanma.

  13.     Upon reading about Burma's new name, I told my Myanmese
  14. cat, who remained indifferent. My wife's Myanmese jade bracelet
  15. looks the same. And have you seen any Myanma Shave signs lately?
  16. Maybe some things should never change.
